This year’s Ice Dance weekend will be packed with new and exciting special events. It will include nearly 10 hours of ice dancing at South Suburban Ice Arena, parties, exhibitions, and seminars. All full weekend registra-tion forms with payments received before May 1st will be eligible for a drawing to receive a handcrafted glass-etched gift made by Carol herself.
Friday, we will kick off the weekend with elegance — wear your best of show attire for the program dance. There will be a buffet supper served at the rink. We will continue our post-skating socializing around the corner at the cozy El Señor Sol restaurant with hot hors d’oeuvres.
Saturday morning will be available for exploring the shops and cafés at the recently opened Streets of South-glenn close to the arena. We will have two on-ice clinics with Carol featuring the technique and the importance of unison followed by program dance, exhibitions and a group photo. The evening events will take place at the Em-bassy Suites with cocktails and a dinner dance. Sunday come in for a continental breakfast before an on-ice clinic. We will pull out all the stops for a Putting On the Ritz competition followed by program dance and an amazing farewell brunch.
The dance weekend is open to adults as well as juniors at the pre-silver level or higher. Full weekend regi-strants will be given priority. Walk-ins will be welcome if space permits. If you have questions, please contact Carol Splawn at 303-795-6028 or foxskates@yahoo.com.
